SPORT AND PERFORMANCE
What does treatment involve?
Treatment is tailored to the injury and may include hands-on therapy, exercise prescription, taping or bracing. You will leave with something to work on between visits.
How many appointments will I need?
That depends on the problem. You will get an honest estimate at the first appointment, and it will be reviewed as things progress rather than booked out indefinitely.
Do I need a scan?
Often not. Many musculoskeletal problems are diagnosed clinically. If imaging will change the plan, a referral can be arranged.
Do you sell braces and equipment?
Yes. Knee and ankle braces, post-operative range-of-motion braces, walking boots and splinting are fitted and supplied in the clinic, so you are not sent elsewhere to have it done.
Can you refer me to a specialist?
Yes. We work alongside local orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians and radiologists, and can refer you on where it is warranted.
What does treatment involve?
Before your appointment
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No. You can book directly without a referral from a GP or specialist. If you have been referred, bring the referral with you along with any scans or reports.
What should I bring?
Any imaging, scan reports or surgical notes relating to the injury, plus your health fund card. Any correspondence from your GP or Care Plans are also welcomed.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. For lower limb problems, shorts or tights are helpful. For shoulder, neck or upper limb issues, a singlet or loose top helps.
How long does the appointment take?
Initial appointments will take between 45-60 minutes, allowing for time to take a full history, complete a thorough assessment and commence treatment the same day.
